Poch reveals the funny thing he will do next time Son scores

Tottenham Hotspur forward Heung-min Son has been in terrific form of late, finding the back of the net with astonishing regularity. The South Korean has now scored 11 goals and bagged 5 assists in his last 11 appearances for the club.

He has been able to achieve this level of consistency despite having to leave for a few weeks to participate in the Asia Cup last month. The 26-year-old’s form has been vital for Spurs given that both Harry Kane and Dele Alli are out with injuries.

Son was once again a constant menace for the Dortmund defence in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 tie last night. The pacey attacker opened the scoring with a neat finish from Vertonghen’s cross after peeling away from his defender.

Spurs eventually ended up winning the game 3-0, which means that they are yet to lose a game this season in which Son has found the back of the net.

When Pochettino was made aware of this statistic he joked that the next time Son scores, he won’t bother watching the rest of the game.

Speaking to Football.London, Pochettino joked, “Ah ok, next time when Son scores I go to the dressing room and shower and wait for the end of the game. It’s good, it’s nice.

“Sonny was fantastic again, he’s doing fantastic. He’s a player who provides the team with a lot of very good things.

“His smile, he translate good energy and his performance in every single game is improving and improving. We’re so happy. It’s so obvious how he is.”
