Poch reveals why players reacted as they did after the final whistle

Tottenham turned the game around in the final 10 minutes against Watford in dramatic fashion to take home all three points. Until the final 10 minutes of the game, it looked like one of those days when the ball just wouldn’t go into the back of the net for the home side after Fernando Llorente missed two gilt-edged chances.

Spurs came into the came on the back of a tough few days in which they were eliminated from both the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup, with experts once again questioning the team’s mentality and doubting their ability to go across the final finish line and win trophies.

It looked as if the team was going to get even more flak after the game last night but Tottenham showed tremendous character to turn thing around in the final 10 minutes of the game courtesy of goals from Son Heung-Min and Fernando Llorente.

Pochettino aid after the game that the players knew how important it was to get back to winning ways after the negativity surrounding the club in recent days and insisted that the team deserved much more reward than they had been getting recently.

Speaking in the post-match press conference, the Argentine told Football.London, ” I didn’t see (celebration after the game) but of course I think to win in that way I think this group of players deserve a lot of praise. To add more pressure in the thing that we were talking about in the last few days.

“This group of players is working so hard in trying to deliver the best job for the club and I think they deserve a lot of praise. This season we are playing against many, many circumstances.

“Of course they feel that they need to celebrate when we won because I think they have the feeling that we deserve more than we’re getting from football. But what I told them is that we need to keep going and for sure football is going to reward us with what we deserve in the end.”
