Pochettino admits he laughed at Liverpool for this reason yesterday

Tottenham Hotspur made it fourteen dropped points from the last possible 15 yesterday after losing 2-1 to Liverpool at Anfield in the Premier League.

Spurs were outplayed in the first half, with Liverpool taking an early lead through a Roberto Firmino header, but changed things around in the second 45.

Pochettino changed the shape for the second half, something that saw his team dominated the League title contenders.

For a period of around half an hour, Spurs hit Liverpool with wave after wave of attack, eventually breaking through after a well-worked move that was finished by Lucas Moura.

Pochettino has since revealed that he found it funny that his side were bossing the now League leaders, despite Liverpool having £100m worth of midfield talent on the bench.

Spurs have famously not spent a penny in well over a year now, but Liverpool had the recent acquisitions of Naby Keita and Fabinho on the bench yesterday.

Poch said (Football London): “You know I was so disappointed after Southampton because we showed in the wrong way our arrogance. Today that is the arrogance I want to see in the team, like in the second half with our superiority. We were laughing a little bit because more than £100m in two midfielders, Keita and Fabinho on the bench, and you go and play and you are better and dominate.”
