Tottenham Hotspur have a number of players coming towards the ends of their respective contracts.
Some of these are bit-part players such as Fernando Llorente and Michel Vorm, however, the more worrying names for fans may be the likes of Toby Alderweireld, Mousa Dembele, and Christian Eriksen.
Dembele is into the final six months of his deal, with Eriksen well into the final 18 of his own.
Toby Alderweireld’s contract has been extended until the summer of 2020, but that does make the centre back available in a period of the summer for just £25m.
Spurs are sure to receive a number of bids from rival clubs due to this rather appealing release clause, but that is assuming that Toby wants to leave.
The Belgian defender may choose to see out his contract, staying for another season, or could even sign a new deal before then.
Pochettino was asked in his press conference whether Alderweireld could stay at Spurs beyond his current contract.
Poch said (Football London): “Nothing changed in those few weeks. Now we are focused on trying to fight for every single competition we face. I think with Toby, it’s like other similar players, like Dembele or Jan Vertonghen, now is so clear the situation and we will see what happens in the future. Now I think the situation is the club we are so focused to do all that we want this season.”
