Pochettino answers whether Dele Alli could play against Man City

Tottenham Hotspur romped to a 4-0 victory over already-relegated Huddersfield this afternoon, with Pochettino making seven changes to the side that beat Man City in mid week.

The Argentine would have had one eye on the Champions League quarter final away leg on Wednesday, keeping as many of his first team stars as fresh as possible.

However, Pochettino may be without playmaker Dele Alli, after the midfield man broke his hand in two places against City in the first leg.

The medical team have provided Dele with some protection on his hand, likely in the form of a splint or a cast, with which the midfielder has been training with this week.

Pochettino claims that they still need to assess and make a decision over whether he can play in the crucial match.

He also revealed it all comes down to whether Dele Alli is comfortable playing with the painful injury.

Poch said (Football London): “We’ll see because we are not sure. He is doing some training sessions with protection, he needs to feel comfortable. It is a little bit painful because he broke his hand in two different places. It all depends on the time, we will see if we arrive in a position where he is comfortable to play. We’ll see, today is difficult to know.”
