Pochettino answers whether he will rotate his team for Palace tie

Tottenham had a disappointing end to their Carabo Cup campaign on Thursday as they were knocked out of the tournament after losing in penalty shootout against Chelsea.

An injury-hit Tottenham fought their way back to level the tie after being a goal down.

Tottenham defended heroically to eventually force the game into a penalty shootout but the away side failed to make their spot kicks count and missed the opportunity to meet Manchester City in the final.

Spurs came into the game with the likes of Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Son Heung-Min and Victor Wanyama missing and also lost both Ben Davies and Moussa Sissoko to injuries during the encounter at Stamford Bridge.

Additionally, the likes of Eric Dier and Lucas Moura have only recently worked their way back to fitness following spells on the sideline.

Pochettino said that he will need to rotate the squad due to the fact that his Tottenham players would need high energy levels to overcome Crystal Palace on Sunday in the FA Cup.

The Spurs boss also revealed that he will have one eye on Tottenham’s upcoming Premier League matches against Watford on Wednesday and Newcastle United on Saturday.

Speaking at yesterday’s pre-Palace press conference, Pochettino told Football.London: “Palace is going to be a difficult game, of course we are going to rotate because we need to rotate because we have two Premier League games on Wednesday and Saturday.”

“It is going to be tough too, we are going to need full energy in every game. Sunday is going to be a game we need full energy in.”
