Tottenham Hotspur continued their excellent run of form in the Premier League with a win against Burnley yesterday afternoon.

Spurs’ only recent blip in the Prem came in the North London Derby against Arsenal.

Pochettino’s men took on a tough and compact Burnley defence at Wembley, and found it extremely difficult to break down the claret and blues.

It took until the 91st minute for the breakthrough, as Tottenham finally got the goal that they deserved.

Substitutions appeared pivotal, as Fernando Llorente came off the bench to flick the ball on, before a Dele Alli chest and Harry Kane lay off saw it fall into Eriksen’s path.

Another sub, fresh off the bench just half an hour before, Eriksen lashed the ball home to take all three points.

This is still Tottenham’s best ever start to a Premier League season after 17 games, and they now sit five behind City and three behind Liverpool, with the reds to play today.

Pochettino was asked whether his side could win the league, he said (Football London): “I don’t want to say that because afterwards people will twist my words and yes I can tell you that all is possible in football and all can happen. We are going to try, like previous seasons we try always to win. Maybe this season it can happen but the most important thing is to try and give your best.”
