Pochettino asked about player pressure and the Xhaka situation at Arsenal

Tottenham Hotspur have been under immense pressure for the vast majority of their season, which only seems to pile higher with every loss.

After reaching the Champions League Final in June and breaking their transfer record in the summer on Tanguy Ndombele, many people were expecting big things.

However, fast forward to the start of November and Tottenham are 11th in the Premier League table with just 12 points from ten games.

Spurs have won just four out of their fourteen games across all competitions, have kept just three clean sheets, and have already been knocked out of the Carabao Cup by League Two side Colchester United.

There is high expectation around this current Spurs crop and a number of players are not quite living up to that at this moment in time.

We saw a prime example of what pressure and negative messages from fans can do to a player last week after Xhaka reacted in an Arsenal match.

Poch was asked if people forget the pressure players are under, with reference to Xhaka.

He said (Football London): “I cannot talk specific about one situation you are asking me now. To be honest I didn’t see the action and didn’t see the situation. I cannot talk with all the arguments, but we understand very well that every single players and every single coaching staff are under pressure. When the fans are in the stand the emotion is there and in our side we need to understand.”
