Pochettino asked about Wilfried Zaha and his links to Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur were knocked out of the Carabao Cup in the harshest of fashions last night, as they were defeated on penalties 4-2 by rivals Chelsea.

Spurs had entered the tie 1-0 to the good, but a severely depleted squad saw them fall 2-1 behind on aggregate by half time last night.

The squad rallied, but it was only enough to grab one goal back, sending the game to penalties, and ultimately sending Tottenham out.

This leaves the FA Cup as Tottenham’s best route to silverware now this season, as they face Crystal Palace in the fourth round on Sunday.

Spurs will be slightly rejuvenated after the returns of Lucas Moura, Eric Dier, and potential availability of Moussa Sissoko, Victor Wanyama, and possibly even Heung Min Son if he makes it home in time.

Crystal Palace and their star man Wilfried Zaha will be tough opposition though, and Pochettino was asked out the winger in his press conference today.

Poch said (Football London): “I don’t talk about rumours. 1,000 rumours. No I think Palace have a lot of quality. He’s a very good player, but like always it’s about collective performance. Palace are doing well and of course he and Townsend are good players and we need to care about them.”
