Pochettino asked whether tomorrow is a must-win in the Champions League

Tottenham Hotspur went on an incredible run in the Champions League last season, making it all the way to the final in Madrid against Liverpool in June.

While they were not able to bring the trophy home, Spurs came away with a number of positives and some amazing memories of their first-ever final.

However, at one stage it did not look as though the North London side would even make it out of the group stage, as they recorded just one point from their first three games.

Spurs opened their campaign with losses away to Inter Milan and at home to Barcelona, before picking up a draw away to PSV.

Despite only having one point from two games so far this season, Tottenham have already surpassed their total at the same stage last year.

Pochettino insists that it is important to win every game, although he refused to use the words must-win when asked in his press conference.

Poch said (Football London): “Every game is important to win. Not only tomorrow. For us it is important to understand that tomorrow is a different competition, so it is important to win and be in a good position in the table, of course. It will be tough because every single game is tough.

“In this type of period our worst opponent are ourselves, and of course we need to compete more with the opponent and with ourselves and try to build our confidence and of course to be solid and perform in the way that we want to perform.”
