Pochettino believes this is an impossible task for Tottenham

It was only a week ago that people were mentioning Tottenham in the same breath as the Premier League title, however, seven days can make a whole lot of difference in the Premier League.

Last Saturday, Spurs had the chance to close the gap between themselves and Liverpool down to just two points, really putting the pressure on the League leaders.

However, Tottenham ended up losing that game against Burnley, before suffering another defeat in the subsequent game against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

This plunged the Lilywhites from title challengers to nine points off the pace in a matter of two games.

Spurs must now fight to retain their third place spot, and stay within the Champions League places for that matter.

Arsenal are only four points behind, with Man United and Chelsea also lurking below.

Pochettino now believes that it is impossible for Spurs to win the title, despite wanting to dream of such events.

He said (Football London): “Of course. It was difficult after the Burnley defeat and after Chelsea it’s nearly impossible, very difficult. It’s going to be tough. We need to win all the games and our two opponents above us need to lose a lot of games. In this type of period it’s going to be difficult. Of course we want to be dreamers and we want to dream in football. Until you finish and mathematically it can be possible of course you can dream but to be honest it’s not a possibility. The percentage is not too big.”
