Pochettino believes this is why Tottenham lost the North London derby

Tottenham’s perfect week came crashing down at the Emirates yesterday, after giving away a half time lead to lose 4-2 to their bitter London rivals.

Spurs had already beaten the likes of Chelsea and Inter Milan through the week, but the NLD appeared to be one step too far for Poch’s men.

The likes of Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Ben Davies, and more all appeared in all three of these tough, high-intensity games, and by the second half against Arsenal it showed.

Despite taking a 2-1 lead into the break, Spurs came undone in the sound half, as fresh legged Arsenal subs ran the weary Tottenham ragged.

Pochettino didn’t make any subs to freshen up his team until it was too late, by that point Arsenal had made three of their own, levelled, and retaken the lead.

The Argentine boss believes his side’s heavy schedule may have been to blame for the loss.

Football London report he said: “Until they scored the third goal I think the game was even. Yes after that I think we started to pay [for such an intense week]. It was tough for the team to show the energy that they normally show. It was tough, that’s normal. It’s mental and physical too, but it was a big, big hit.”
