Pochettino believes this Spurs man could win player of the season

Tottenham Hotspur have performed well beyond what critics thought possible this season, and now sit just five points off the top of the table.

Spurs made no signings in the summer, and came into the season off the back of a poor pre season, with the majority of their first team stars fatigued by a long World Cup.

Tottenham then had to contend with the vast stadium delays, waving goodbye to Heung Min Son twice, and yet again failing to sign in January.

Despite all this, they still remain in the hunt for a Premier League trophy, and in recent weeks, that has been largely down to Sonny.

With Kane and Alli out injured, Son presents Spurs’ most potent attacking threat, and he hasn’t disappointed with his two goals in two games since returning from the Asia Cup.

He has now scored 10 Premier League since the end of November, and Pochettino believes he is a contender for player of the season.

Poch said (Football London): “After November, yes. After the international break when he started against Chelsea. He could be a contender, the people that will find the player but of course in the last few months he’s done well.”
