Pochettino claims that Daniel Levy is too negative

Tottenham Hotspur fans were forced to wait two and a half years for their new stadium, including opening delays of around six months, but now it seems worth every second.

Since moving into the new ground, and away from Wembley, Tottenham have played four matches, won four, scored eight goals, and conceded zero.

This also included a win against Man City in the Champions League quarter-final, a result that went on to set up Spurs’ first ever qualification to the semi-final stage.

Tottenham will be hoping that the new ground can also prove to be the inspiration behind a top-four finish in the Premier League and an appearance in the Champions League final.

Mauricio Pochettino was always a big advocate of moving to the new ground as soon as possible (Guardian), and that decision is certainly paying off.

In his latest press conference, the Argentine manager claims that it is important to always be positive, and that chairman, Daniel Levy, can sometimes be guilty of the opposite.

Poch said (Football London): “Always in my mind, it was the best thing to happen. I told you, in my mind, I am open to invite the positive things. I am so positive, I always joke with Daniel because Daniel says to me in every single meeting, ‘Oh gaffer, you’re so positive’. He is the opposite, sometimes too much negative. It’s in my nature. I always expect the best from the people in front. I’m a very positive person. Of course, to move to the new stadium could be negative but that was not in mind. I only thought it could be positive and it was positive for us, for the team, for the club, for the fans. You must be positive and take risks if you want to win. If not, it is difficult to get something special in life, not only football.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

It seems as if Pochettino and Levy bounce off each other very well, almost like the Ying and the Yang of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club. I imagine that sometimes Levy needs a kick up the bum, and other times, Pochettino needs to be reeled in a little. Whatever the case, it is nice to see that the manager and chairman have a great relationship, and whatever they are doing at the moment seems to be working.
