Pochettino comments on Spurs future amid Madrid rumours

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has committed his immediate future to the club amid rumours of a £40m Real Madrid attempt to lure him away.

Pochettino has always been insistent of his commitment to Tottenham as he looks to see out a long-term project in North London.

Real Madrid rumours were at their heaviest during the summer after manager Zinedine Zidane vacated his position.

Poch responded by signing anew five year deal, and he has responded to these rumours again this week.

The Telegraph report that Pochettino said he has heard nothing from Spain after a week of Madrid links.

The gaffer was also asked if he would be around to move into the new stadium, a strange question loaded with shades of ‘are you leaving in the next few months?’

Pochettino clarified that he will indeed be head of Tottenham when they move into the new ground, unless Daniel Levy ahs other ideas.

The Telegraph report he said: “Will I be moving in too? Yes,” he confirmed. “When we move, I expect to move there. Only Daniel [Levy] can say ‘the club is going to move, but you gaffer no.’

“Because I’m in a different country my English is not so good and I don’t follow too much the media.

“I sometimes have a surprised face because I am not too much involved in social media because I don’t have Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, nothing, I don’t receive information.

“That’s why my head, my face, I look younger than I really am. Stuff like that happens in football. You can not change anything. It’s normal in this business.”
