Pochettino comments on Spurs injuries

Tottenham Hotspur are without a number of key stars as they face a crunch match against PSV in the Champions League tomorrow night.

The likes of Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli, and Mousa Dembele only just returned from injury, but now Spurs have a new batch of absentees.

Unfortunately Dembele sustained yet another injury only seven minutes into the Wolves game this weekend, a week after his return from his last spell out.

Victor Wanyama and Eric Dier have both sustained knee and thigh injuries respectively, leaving Spurs a little bare in midfield.

The likes of Harry Winks and Moussa Sissoko will likely feature heavily in the coming weeks.

Danny Rose, Jan Vertonghen, Luke Amos, and Vincent Janssen remain long-term absentees.

Lloris is out of the game with a red card.

Pochettino commented on Tottenham’s Twitter: “We need to wait for the scan today. He didn’t suffer an injury to his bone which is good. We have to wait and see.

“Dele is fit and ready for selection tomorrow.”

On Wanyama, Poch said: “It was a different knee he injured. He’s close to being back and hopefully will be available for selection on Saturday.”

Lamela has hit a fine run of form, and seems to have put his own injury troubles behind him, Pochettino said: “He is more mature now. It was tough for him at the beginning, everything is going well now. I hope it continues and he stays consistent throughout the season.”
