Pochettino compares Tottenham to hit US TV show

Tottenham Hotspur have suffered a lot of ups and downs already this season.

The club are enjoying their best ever start to a Premier League campaign with 24 points from their first eleven games.

Spurs currently sit in the top four despite still having to play their games at Wembley, and without buying a single player in the summer.

They are still fighting on four fronts with regards to trophies this season.

Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Harry Winks, Erik Lamela, Heung Min Son, Davinson Sanchez and more have all signed new deals.

However, the new stadium is still yet to be finished, and delays will now run into 2019.

Spurs’ Champions League future looks bleak after only accumulating one point from their first three games.

And Tottenham’s captain Hugo Lloris was charged with drink driving early in the season.

All these ups and downs, twists and turns, endless drama, Tottenham’s season could almost make a hit TV show, couldn’t it?

Manager Mauricio Pochettino has compared Tottenham and football in general to the hit Netflix political drama House of Cards.

The Sun report Poch said: “Yes, yes, it’s been a weird season. But I look so happy now because I start again the new season of House of Cards.

“I watched three episodes yesterday. I learn a lot from this series. I recommend it. It’s similar, eh!

“I think it represents very well sometimes how we are. Sometimes football is so political and it’s going in this direction.”
