Pochettino confused by views over the new stadium

Tottenham Hotspur fans have been patiently waiting for months on end now for their new stadium to open its doors.

The 62,000 seat ground was supposed to have its grand opening against Liverpool way back in September 2018, but, now in March 2019, supporters are still waiting.

With only a handful of Premier League games left this season, some will argue that it seems pointless to disrupt the team and move stadiums now.

Perhaps this could have been a legitimate argument a few weeks ago when Spurs were in full flow, but having dropped eight Premier League points in their last three matches, the time to move could be now.

Playing in the new stadium and in front of a full crowd would surely only give the players a huge boost, and who knows, may even convince one or two to remain at the club.

Pochettino is certain the club should move as soon as possible (Football London): “Why? If the stadium is ready I don’t think it’s anything negative, for me it’s all positive to move quick and play the last few games there. Of course that is a position that some people might think it’s better to wait until next season but our idea always was that the moment the stadium is ready we need to move. But we are thinking nearly the whole season, first in September. Then update, update, update, then we think next month. We arrive in March and we are waiting but it’s a similar idea from earlier in the season. As soon as it’s ready we need to move. Why change that idea now.”
