Pochettino dashes hopes of Tottenham making a late signing

Tottenham Hotspur were the only club this season not to sign any new players in the summer transfer window, and the only club in Premier League history to do this as a matter of fact.

Fans may have been hoping for some January activity to make up for the lack of summer signings, but so far, Spurs have yet to dip their toes into the market.

The only dealing so far this month saw Mousa Dembele swap North London for China.

Spurs are currently without two of their top goal scoring threats Harry Kane and Dele Alli, as both are set to be out injured until early March.

Pochettino claims he was confident of possibly bringing in a new signing a few days ago, but he has now lost all optimism.

It looks as if Tottenham will have to make do with what they have for the remainder of their Premier League and Champions League campaigns.

Poch said (Football London): “A few days ago I was very optimistic about some options to sign – realistic options to sign – but today no, I’m not optimistic.”
