Pochettino deal the catalyst as Spurs eye marquee signing

Following the announcement of Mauricio Pochettino’s new long term deal according to The Mail Tottenham will now turn their attentions to strengthening their squad ahead of next season as the club look to end our long running trophy drought.

The article describes how Pochettino has requested at least £100million to sign fresh talent this summer and is said to have Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha, Manchester United forward Anthony Martial and Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon on the his wish list.

However Manchester United are open to offers for French forward Martial but do not want to sell to a rival club in England but that may change as United are said to be negotiating with Spurs over Toby Alderweireld.

Fulham youngster Sessegnon has attracted the interest of a host of Premier League clubs after a stunning season during which he has guided them to the Championship play-off final.

Pochettino signed a bumper new deal with Spurs on Thursday, and will lead the club into their new stadium next season.He put pen to paper on a fresh five-year contract, worth in the region of £8.5m a year up until 2023.
