Pochettino emotional over post-match scenes at the new White Hart Lane

Tottenham Hotspur thrashed relegated Huddersfield 4-0 at home this afternoon in the early kick off at the new stadium.

Spurs came into the game with seven changes from the side that beat Manchester City 1-0 on Tuesday night in the Champions League.

The Huddersfield match came as a potential banana skin, as Pochettino was always likely to rest players with it being sandwiched between two key European ties.

All the talk this week has been about Harry Kane and his potentially season-ending ankle ligament injury sustained in the week.

However, Lucas Moura more than stepped up to the plate today, scoring a hat trick against the Terriers, with three sublime finishes from the Brazilian.

He then celebrated his first European hat trick in style by bringing his son onto the pitch and having a little kick around with him, an act that touched both the Spurs faithful and Moura’s boss Mauricio Pochettino.

Poch said (Football London): “I saw on the TV, it was amazing, nice very emotional for him, it was so nice. I am so happy for him and his family. It is his first hat-trick in Europe, it is a very nice moment for him to share with his son and his family. That is the best the thing that can happen in life when you share your happiness with the people you love.”
