Pochettino gives journalist an update on the fitness of Lo Celso and Sessegnon

Tottenham Hotspur manager, Mauricio Pochettino, has now revealed that new signings Giovani Lo Celso and Ryan Sessegnon are still ‘a long way off’ the level he wants them to be at.

This comes as both players made a return to training this week after recovering from the respective injuries that have hampered their early season.

Ryan Sessegnon was actually injured when Spurs bought him from Fulham and has struggled with a hamstring problem ever since.

The England youngster has not had a pre-season or any game time in the last few months, meaning that he is playing catch up.

Lo Celso has minutes under his belt this season and seemed to be close to making his full debut for Tottenham last month.

However, after three appearances from the bench for the Argentine, he picked up an injury on international duty and has not been seen since.

Pochettino latest comments seem to suggest that we won’t see this pair in action for some time.

Spurs Web Opinion:

The last thing Spurs want to do is rush them back and cause even further damage. The team needs fresh blood as soon as possible, but it needs to happen in its own time.
