Pochettino gives the latest on Harry Kane’s recovery

Tottenham Hotspur fans will still be reeling from the news of Harry Kane’s long-term injury, keeping him out until early March.

Heung Min Son is also away on South Korea duty at the Asia Cup, keeping him out for a number of weeks too.

Lucas Moura is still nursing an injury of his own, and is currently unavailable, leaving Fernando Llorente as the only senior striker in the squad who is ready to play.

Spurs fans will be dying to hear some good news on Harry Kane and his recovery, and although Pochettino did not give an update on the time scale of his absence, he did give an insight into Kane’s mental strength.

The Tottenham gaffer said that Harry’s mind immediately switched to recovery as soon as he picked up the injury, and is determined to get back as soon as possible.

He was also keen to point out that Tottenham have the quality to cope without him.

Poch said (Football London):  “I think he’s very positive. Of course we are going to see, the time to recover and have the full recovery. But always it’s an easy thing with Harry because he’s a very positive person that in the moment he got injured started to think about his recovery as soon as possible. But of course it’s going to be an important player out for a time. He’s one of the best strikers or players in Europe or the world and always it’s going to affect the performance, but we think and we are in the same way, positive, that we can cope with the situation and we have enough players to cover that place and of course it’s not going to change our approach in the different games we’re going to play without him.”
