Pochettino has his say on the Bournemouth win

Tottenham Hotspur stormed to their fourth straight Premier League win this afternoon, smashing five goals past Bournemouth without response.

The Wembley rout followed a similar thrashing of Everton at Goodison Park, a game that finished 6-2.

Spurs’ recent run of incredible form in all competitions has seen them reach an equally impressive milestones.

After Boxing Day, they sit second in the Premier League, with only Liverpool above them.

A second brace in a matter of days for Heung Min Son, along with goals from Harry Kane, Christian Eriksen, and Lucas Moura capped off a wonderful Tottenham Christmas.

They will now be hoping to close the gap on Liverpool over the next few games, as they put more and more distance between themselves and fifth.

The ideal scenario for Spurs would be to bring some silverware and Champions League into their first full season at the new stadium.

Pochettino was very impressed with his side’s performance today. He said (Football London): “Yes, we were clinical but we dominated and fully deserved the victory, a victory that with all the conditions is massive for us, because we had one day less than them to prepare.

“To show the energy that we showed today was fantastic. I’m very pleased, it makes us very happy. It showed the belief and that we are in a very good direction this season trying to achieve the thing that we want.”
