Pochettino hints who will play at right back tomorrow night

Tottenham Hotspur take on the mighty Barcelona tomorrow night in a must-win Champions League tie.

One thing you always want when taking on a huge side like Barca is a full compliment of experience first team stars, but unfortunately, Pochettino has issues in this area.

Serge Aurier and Kieran Trippier both sustained new injuries in the past week, leaving just young Kyle Walker-Peters as the remaining Spurs right back.

The youngster came through the academy, breaking into the first team set up last season with two man of the match performances across the Premier League campaign.

KWP has been used extremely sparingly this season though, and will be thrown into the deep end tomorrow night when he is likely to take on the biggest match of his short career.

Pochettino heavily hinted that Kyle would start the match in that right back berth, and assured the press that he was confident in the young man’s ability.

Poch said (Football London): “Kyle Walker-Peters will have the option to play. I remind you that he won the U20 World Cup only a year ago. Playing at a place like this will make him strong and we have no doubts in him playing tomorrow. So happy to have three players in this position with different qualities. I think Kyle has the qualities to play. He needs to feel free. He’s a very relaxed player and person. Whatever happens tomorrow we hope he will be a massive success for this club.”
