Pochettino implies that Dele Alli is close to a return

Tottenham Hotspur have struggled for attacking options in recent weeks, with nasty injuries to both Harry Kane and Dele Alli.

Kane picked up another ankle injury at the death against Man United at Wembley, and just when Spurs needed Alli to step up and lead the team from the front, he too was struck down by injury late on against Fulham.

Luckily Tottenham now have Lucas Moura back fit, Fernando Llorente scoring goals, and Heung Min Son back from the Asia Cup, giving them a few different options.

However, with key Premier League fixtures and two legs against Dortmund on the horizon, Spurs will be keen to get their stars back as soon as possible.

Pochettino talked about Alli’s injury in today’s press conference, and implied that the midfielder may not be too far away from a return.

Alli has been pictured doing outdoor rehabilitation, and seems in good spirits, so could we see him in the next couple of weeks?

Poch said (Football London): “Dele is the same as Harry, maybe he is closer than Ben Davies but is still going to be out for tomorrow.”

Clarifying that he is out for tomorrow’s game implies that this may not be the case for too much longer.
