Pochettino implies that he wants a new contract with Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur fans can rejoice at Pochettino’s comments in his press conference today ahead of the North London Derby against Arsenal.

The Argentine seemed to imply that he wants a new contract at the club, stating that he wishes to extend his life at Spurs.

However, he did admit that the decision ultimately came down to Daniel Levy and how well the players perform on the pitch.

So far this season, Spurs have not performed at the level normally associated with them in any aspect.

Despite this drop in form, after everything Poch and Levy have achieved together, I cannot imagine that there would be any pressure on the manager.

Since taking over five years ago, Pochettino has taken Spurs from a top-four wannabe side to Champions League regulars and ever CL finalists.

All that is missing from his CV and Tottenham’s history over the last decade is a trophy.

Poch said: “I hope that I can extend my life here. Sure it’s good for us and good for the club. In the end, it’s in the hands of the players and the results and the last word will be with Daniel.”
