Pochettino insists Spurs are having a fantastic season given the “circumstances”

This season has been a strange one for Tottenham, as the side has gone on several great runs as well as some extremely poor ones.

However, despite not singing a single player in the last two transfer windows and the uncertainty surrounding the move to the new stadium earlier in the season, Spurs have competed admirably.

Additionally, Spurs have lost several important players to injuries at crucial points in the season.

Despite these setbacks, Pochettino’s men find themselves in the third position in the Premier League table and in the semifinals of the Champions League.

The win against Brighton last evening gives Spurs some breathing space in the race for the top 4, as the club now look heavy favorites to qualify for Europe’s most prestigious club competition for the fourth season in a row.

After the win, Pochettino once again reiterated how proud he is of his players, and said that the club have had an amazing season considering the circumstances.

Speaking to Football.London, the Argentine said, “I am very pleased with all the players, I told you before in one game it is one [player], in one it is another. That is so important because the performance of the players, it is so important they are consistent during the whole season.

“During the season there are some ups, some downs, but I feel very proud.

“We are so proud about the effort they are doing, of course after five years I am so happy with all the players but this season was so special with a lot of circumstances we are doing a fantastic season. I am so proud about them.”
