Pochettino lavishes praise on players following Swansea victory

Mauricio Pochettino has praised his Tottenham side after their 3-0 win over Swansea secured a place in the FA Cup semi-finals.

Christian Eriksen put us ahead in the 11th minute with a sublime finish at the Liberty Stadium before having a goal chalked off by the VAR system.

The lads showed their resilience and didn’t let that setback affect them and we doubled our lead just before the break when Erik Lamela got his name on the scoresheet.

Eriksen then doubled his tally midway through the second half as we put the game out of Swansea’s reach.

And Pochettino was pleased with the professional manner in which the lads dispatched Carlos Carvalhal’s Swans.”It was a very good performance,” said the Tottenham boss. “I’m very happy and very pleased. Now, Wembley for the semi-final!

He added: “We full deserved the victory. We played very well. Of course when you score early it makes it easy to control the game.

“For me the most important thing is that we deserved it and the team [Tottenham] played much better. We are in the semi-final because we deserve it.”

Pochettino was reluctant to discuss the impact VAR had had on the game following Son’s disallowed goal. “I don’t want to talk any more about the new system because it is so difficult to manage for everyone,I don’t want it to be more confusing for everyone.”

Pochettino was also please wit Michel Vorm in the win too.
“It was a great save from Michel Vorm [in the second-half] which shows he is an unbelievable keeper,” he said. “But I think it was the only chance they [Swansea] created”

He added: “If you watch the last three games we won with a different starting XI and now today too. What is important is that everyone is available to play and the team is not affected by the names. We keep the same way, the same dynamic and that is so important.”
