Pochettino looks ahead to Everton and warns of squad rotation

Tottenham Hotspur carried on their top form with an impressive win over their North London rivals Arsenal last night.

The win sent them through to the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup to play Chelsea over two legs, but these games will not be played until February 2019.

Spurs must first negotiate a congested festive period of Premier League football though, starting with a trip to Everton this weekend.

Tottenham typically do well when the fixtures come thick and fast over Christmas, and a good run could see them close the gap on league leaders Liverpool and Manchester City.

Pochettino has however warned of upcoming squad rotation, as he believes it is key to both involve all players, and keep everyone fresh and fit.

This rotation has worked well for Spurs so far this season, as most first team players, and even some academy graduates have played a good number of minutes for the club.

He said (Football London): “Everton have a lot of quality players. A great squad and Marco Silva’s doing a fantastic job. He’s a very good coach. Of course, always important project when you arrive at a new club, you need time.

“I’m not going to complain. In previous season we enjoy more of gap in between games. Now for us is a tougher period and more than ever we will use squad. I feel sorry for the people who do not like rotation, but we are going to use all the squad. We will be ready to compete and to be competitive I think we need all the squad.”
