Pochettino makes huge claim about Man City and the quadruple

Tottenham Hotspur take on Manchester City in the Champions League quarter final first leg tomorrow night at the new Spurs stadium.

This is the very first European night under the lights at the state of the art ground, and Pochettino will be looking to make history by starting off with a win.

Spurs have only ever reached the quarter final of the Champions League on one other occasion, way back in 2011 under Harry Redknapp.

Tottenham were battered by Real Madrid back then, after Peter Crouch picked up a red card just ten minutes into the first leg.

Spurs will be looking to go one better this season, as they hope to upset the odds and qualify over two legs past the Premier League title holders.

Man City are still on course to win the quadruple this season, with the League Cup already under their belt.

They are in the final of the FA Cup, in a two horse race for the Prem, and one of the bookies favourites for the Champions League too.

Pochettino would like his team to put an end to such dreams, but admits Man City are probably the only team capable of achieving such a feat at the moment.

He said (Football London): “That’s a question for him. We’re going to try to do our job, try to win. Of course Manchester City in the last few years have been building to try to win everything. They have a very good squad with very good players. He’s one of the best managers in the world. If one club or one team is capable of winning everything today, it’s Manchester City. They are in a very good place.”
