Pochettino may play in the Tottenham stadium test event today

Tottenham Hotspur fans are finally going to get their first taste of football at the new stadium today, as the club holds an under 18s match.

The stadium is set to officially open on April 3 against Crystal Palace in the Premier League, around six months after it was originally supposed to open.

September 15 last year against Liverpool in the League was the original date, but building and fire safety delays put a stop to that.

However, the wait is nearly finally over for fans. Spurs must hold two test events successfully before they can open the ground for competitive use.

The first of these is today, when 30,000 fans will flock to watch an under 18s match, with the second test event being a legends game for 45,000 fans next weekend.

What may surprise some fans today is that Pochettino is listed in the matchday squad to take to the new stadium turf (Telegraph).

However, before you get excited, the gaffer has named his 17-year-old son Maurizio Pochettino, rather than himself.

Poch junior joined Tottenham in the summer of 2017 and is a winger, unlike his central defender dad.

How much would you pay to see the manager feature in the legends game?
