Pochettino nomiated for December award

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has been nominated for the December manager of the month award.

Spurs enjoyed a fantastic festive season this year, thriving under the pressure of a congested schedule.

After suffering a bitter defeat to North London rivals Arsenal, Tottenham went on a five game win streak, scoring twenty goals in the process.

This included thrashings of Everton and Bournemouth either side of Christmas, with Spurs beating them 6-2 and 5-0 respectively.

Pochettino will be aiming to end Tottenham’s trophy drought this season, as the Lilywhites have now gone over a decade without a piece of silverware.

The Argentine gaffer has never won a trophy as a manager himself either, so will want to get something on his CV his season with Tottenham still fighting on four fronts.

Pochettino is up against Nuno Espirito Santo, Jurgen Klopp, Manuel Pellegrini, and Maurizio Sarri for the award.
