Pochettino on Tottenham – ‘I wish to be here 20 years’

Tottenham Hotspur have gone from strength to strength under Mauricio Pochettino since he took over as manager five years ago.

Spurs have finished in the top three in the Premier League for three years running, beating some high quality Champions League teams in their European campaigns too.

Pochettino’s mixture of faith in youth, a settled squad, and a tough fitness regime has transformed Spurs into one of the very best and most consistent sides in the country.

Tottenham are currently in what looks to be a three horse race for the Premier League title this season, as well as already reaching the last 16 of the Champions League, semi-finals of the Carabao Cup, and round four of the FA Cup.

Pochettino will be hoping to earn his first trophy as a manager, while ending Tottenham’s decade-long barren run.

The Argentine manager has stated that he would love to be at the club for twenty years, but you get the impression this is only if he is backed financially.

Poch said (BBC): “I hope, or I wish to be here 20 years, and decide to leave or to finish my career here.

“I am so focused here, and want to help the club to achieve what the club want to be in history.

“It would be fantastic. I am so happy to be here. I am so happy to work in that pressure. Why not?”
