Pochettino on whether Alli can start against City

Tottenham Hotspur face the biggest game of their season tomorrow night, and perhaps the biggest game in their recent history too.

Spurs take on Man City in the Champions League quarter final second leg, as both teams bid for a place in the final four of Europe’s elite.

Tottenham have never been to the semi final before in their history, and have only even made the quarters on one other occasion.

The Lilywhites come into the game with a narrow advantage on the score line, but a major disadvantage in terms of injuries.

Harry Kane picked up another ankle ligament injury in the 1-0 home leg win, and Harry Winks is also struggling with a groin injury.

Dele Alli broke his hand in two places last Tuesday against City too, throwing his availability into doubt, as Pochettino has now revealed he will likely either start the game, or make the bench.

Poch said (Football London): “We need to assess him. We are going to have the last training session and then decide if it is possible to start from the beginning or on the bench. We are going to assess him.”
