Pochettino on whether Giovani Lo Celso can play against Sheffield tomorrow

Tottenham Hotspur’s Giovani Lo Celso completed around 80 minutes against Red Star Belgrade on Wednesday night in Serbia as the two sides met in the Champions League.

The Spurs new boy managed to open the scoring with a fine finish into the top corner, before controlling the game with his precise passing and creative ability.

This was actually the Argentine’s first-ever start for the Lilywhites after joining on loan from Real Betis back in the summer and he certainly didn’t disappoint on his full debut.

Pochettino had previously used Lo Celso a number of times off the bench, but an injury sustained on international duty with Argentina halted his progress.

The last thing that Poch will want is to push the midfield man too hard too soon after his good midweek display, especially with the Sheffield United match coming so soon.

Spurs play Sheffield in the Premier League tomorrow and Pochettino has revealed that he will only assess and make a decision on Lo Celso in the morning.
