Pochettino on whether Harry Kane could start tonight in the Champions League

Tottenham Hotspur take on Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League this evening with kick-off coming at 20:00 as Spurs look to record their first win since the two clubs last met.

Spurs won that day at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, recording their most convincing victory of the season by scoring five goals without reply.

Harry Kane was at the double that day in North London with an opening header and a tidy finish into the bottom right corner.

However, the England captain missed Tottenham’s last outing away to Everton on Sunday with a virus as Spurs threw away a 1-0 lead to draw 1-1 at Goodison.

Kane travelled with the squad to Serbia ahead of the Champions League clash after recovering from illness and training on the Monday.

Pochettino has now revealed that Kane is doing fine but the club will need to watch him train and decided whether he can start in the XI or on the bench this evening.

Poch said (Tottenham): “Yes, he’s good. He feels well but we need to train this afternoon (Tuesday) and then tomorrow decide if it can be possible for him to start or maybe be on the bench.”
