Pochettino on whether Sissoko, Davies and Dele will start against Arsenal

The North London derby arguably the biggest fixture in the Tottenham Hotspur calendar, but Mauricio Pochettino admits he has some selection decisions to make ahead of the match.

Tottenham have already had a busy time recently having played both Chelsea and Inter Milan in the space of six days at Wembley.

Whilst he has shuffled some of his players across both matches, seven of his squad have started both matches.

Hugo Lloris, Toby Alderweireld, Serge Aurier, Ben Davies, Dele Alli, Moussa Sissoko and Harry Kane are the players in question and if they were to start at the Emirates on Sunday, it would be their third start in the space of eight days.

Mauricio Pochettino discussed the situation with the press during Friday’s press conference and revealed that he will make a decision on his side today.

With the likes of Danny Rose and Juan Foyth not featuring against Inter Milan, Pochettino does have options to rest some tired legs.

He told Football.London when asked about the situation: “We are assessing them, maybe yes, maybe no. We have tomorrow to decide,”

“If we feel the player is going to take some risk then of course we are going to rest. It is not important the name.

“If we believe we need to rest some player we are going to rest, we are not going to take a risk. We are going to put a player that we believe can cope with 90 minutes of effort.

“We know you cannot 100 per cent avoid the risk on the player but we need to be sure the players that are going to play are ready to compete.”
