Pochettino on whether these two players will take part against United

Tottenham Hotspur take on Manchester United on Sunday, as they look to continue their fine form in all competitions.

Spurs beat London rivals Chelsea in the Carabao Cup last time out, and will be looking for all three points at Wembley this weekend.

Last time Spurs and United met, Tottenham ran away as 3-0 winners at Old Trafford on a day that Lucas Moura bagged a brace.

It should be a far tighter affair this time around, with the Red Devils winning their last five matches in all competitions.

In fact, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has yet to avoid victory as the interim United boss, and will be hoping to continue this run in order to land him the permanent job.

Mousa Dembele and Jan Vertonghen are both back in training this week, but it was unclear whether they would feature against United. Pochettino cleared this up in his press conference.

He said (Football London): “I don’t believe Mousa Dembele is going to be, still not match fit still. Of course he’s training with the group. I need to assess him tomorrow, but I don’t believe he’s match fit. He’s still not fit enough to play. Vertonghen I need to assess because we have plenty of centre-backs. It’s my decision. I think he’s in the same position as Mousa Dembele. We’ll see if he’s fit enough to have one space in the starting XI, bench or maybe he’s going to be out.”
