Pochettino pokes fun at Jesus Perez’s managerial record

Not only does tomorrow night mark the first senior competitive match in the new Spurs stadium, but it also represents the end to Pochettino’s touchline ban.

The Argentine received a two match ban after his confrontation with referee Mike Dean against Burnley last month.

Spurs lost the game 2-1, with Burnley’s opener coming from a corner that clearly should never have been given.

Pochettino made sure to speak his mind come the final whistle, getting right up in Dean’s face and shouting at him for all the cameras to see.

The Spurs gaffer was then forced to watch from the stands against Southampton and Liverpool, two games in which Spurs dropped all three points.

Luckily Pochettino is back for the first game in the new stadium, but he can already see the funny side of his ban.

In his press conference today, Poch poked fun at his assistant manager Jesus Perez’s record as the senior figure on the touchline… two games, two losses.

Poch said (Football London): “It [My return] is going to be an impact. I hope. The two results, my friend here (points to Jesus Perez and laughs), the percentage of victory.”
