Pochettino preparing a move for Bournemouth midfielder priced at £30m

Reports claim Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is hoping to make a move for Bournemouth’s Lewis Cook.

Last season, the 21-year-old earned himself a regular place in Eddie Howe’s side and in doing so has caught the attention of some of the Premier League’s biggest clubs.

Spurs remain the only side from last season’s top-six not to have made any summer signings but are ready to make their move for Cook.

However, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is also said to be a big admirer of the youngster but having already bolstered their midfield a move to Anfield seems unlikely.

Spurs have struggled with injuries to their midfield in their pre-season tour also with Moussa Dembele and Eric Dier making a late return to training following their World Cup journeys it may be wise for Poch to bring in an additional midfielder.

Cook captained the England U20 side which lifted the World Cup last year and currently has until 2020 left on his contract.

With the Cherries hoping to tie the young prospect down to a long-term deal it may be a case of now or never for Spurs if they hope to acquire his services.

Spurs fans, is this a sign of desperation or would it be a classy buy?
