Pochettino provides bad news on Sissoko injury

Tottenham Hotspur fans will still be partying from the historic result last night in Manchester as they qualified for their first ever Champions League semi final.

They did it the true Tottenham way as well, by throwing away a 3-1 lead before scoring a late goal to seal qualification and stop the hearts of all supporters.

However, there was one down side of the match, as player of the season Moussa Sissoko was forced off the pitch before half time with a groin injury.

The Frenchman hit the deck on three occasions after attempting to play on with the problem, but he was unable to beat the pain barrier.

This comes as a major blow for Spurs not just in the Champions League, but in the race for the top four in the Premier League too.

With Eric Dier and Harry Winks also out injured, it leaves Spurs with just Victor Wanyama and Oliver Skipp as their only central midfielders.

Poch today provided some negative news on the Sissoko front (Football London): “Sissoko – we need to assess him tomorrow. We’re not optimistic but today or tomorrow we will have a better idea.”
