Pochettino provides positive injury update about Tottenham attacker

Tottenham edged past Fulham in dramatic fashion at Craven Cottage this afternoon as Harry Winks produced a header in stoppage time to give the away side all three points. However, Tottenham did have come away from the game with one major concern as Dele Alli had to be replaced with a hamstring problem.

With Harry Kane out until March with an ankle injury and Heung-Min Son at the Asia Cup, an injury for Alli leaves Tottenham seriously short of attacking options.

After the game, Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino said that Alli had to be assessed before he could comment on the severity of his injury.

However, the Argentine did have one positive update regarding Tottenham’s injury problems with the return of Lucas Moura.

Pochettino told Football.London: “We hope Lucas Moura, you forgot Lucas Moura was training today at the training ground. Lucas Moura is going to be okay. Today we didn’t want to take a risk with him but he’s is nearly 100 per cent to try to help the team. Maybe it’s not going to be Dele Alli but we are going to have Lucas Moura on the bench or maybe starting from the beginning. We’ll see how are going manage him now.”

The return of the Brazilian is certainly good news for Spurs before the crucial second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Thursday night.

Spurs fans will be hoping they soon hear some positive news on Alli’s injury as well.
