Pochettino raves about Anfield, Klopp, and the Liverpool fans

Tottenham Hotspur fans were given the best Christmas present of all this year, seeing their beloved team leap from third to second after two Xmas thrashings.

A 6-2 pummelling of Everton, followed by a 5-0 dismantling of Bournemouth at Wembley saw Pochettino’s men overtake the struggling City.

Only Liverpool remain ahead of Tottenham in the table, but they are still unbeaten, and still a whole six points clear of the Lilywhites.

Tottenham’s next goal will be to close the gap as much as possible over the next couple of months.

They may be presented with an early chance over the next week or so, as Liverpool face games against both Arsenal and Manchester City themselves.

Pochettino has been waxing lyrical about Liverpool in his press conference this week, stating that the manager, the fans, and the atmosphere around Anfield is really driving them to do great things.

Here’s hoping that Spurs will be with the likes of Liverpool all the way until the end.

Poch said (Football London): “They are playing so well and are showing a great quality. They have an unbelievable squad and an unbelievable manager with Jurgen Klopp.

“You can feel like yesterday when I saw the highlights that the people at Anfield are desperate to win and they are showing their support to the team.

“Yesterday Anfield was amazing, every game Liverpool play at Anfield is a party and that sometimes makes a difference.

“It is going to be a massive fight because Chelsea, Manchester City, Arsenal, or Manchester United plus Tottenham are trying to fight against them.

“It is going to be tough until the end. Of course now the gap is six points with us and seven with Manchester City but there is still half a season to play and anything can happen.”
