Pochettino responds to Dele controversy with funny comment

Tottenham Hotspur are always well represented in the England teams of late, with the likes of Harry Kane, Harry Winks, Eric Dier, Dele Alli, Kieran Trippier, and Danny Rose all regulars under Gareth Southgate.

However, during the international break last week, Dele Alli found himself in a spot of bother after a certain video was leaked online.

The phone camera footage showed Dele Alli and England teammate Ross Barkley late at night in a hotel lobby (Daily Mail YouTube).

The man behind the camera throws all kinds of hushed accusations at the two footballers, although the footage doesn’t actually show them doing anything wrong.

Pochettino has now responded to the controversy with a brilliant comment about his own days as a young footballer.

Poch argued that he got up to a lot worse in his time, but luckily no one was around with a mobile phone to capture the shenanigans.

Rightly so, it doesn’t appear that Dele got into any trouble with his boss over this one.

ESPN report Poch said:  “We were worse in my era when I was playing, but no-one could record us or take a picture. There is nothing wrong. There is no point talking too much as you give publicity to a person who was doing something that, for me, was completely wrong.”
