Pochettino reveals Danny Rose could have played against Dortmund

Tottenham Hotspur are set to take on the German League leaders tomorrow night, under the lights at Wembley.

This is the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 for the two teams, both of which will be looking to book their place in the quarter finals.

Both sides come into the tie in good form, with Spurs boasting four wins from their last four, and Dortmund sitting pretty at the top of their domestic league.

However, Spurs played their last match on Sunday, compared to Dortmund’s Saturday fixture, handing the black and yellows an extra day’s rest and preparation.

Pochettino has stressed this fact in his recent press conferences, as he believes it gives his opponents a clear advantage.

Spurs come into the game with the likes of Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Ben Davies, and Danny Rose all injured.

Rose could feature on the bench for Tottenham, but Poch has revealed that he may have been able to start if given that extra 24 hours recovery.

Pochettino said (Football London): “It’s a little bit of a shame, as I explained before, don’t be in the same situation or circumstances as Dortmund [24 hrs less rest]. And things like, the example is Danny Rose. With one day more, maybe he can be available to play but to reduce the time in between both games, Sunday and Wednesday, is nearly impossible. We will see if he can be on the bench.”
