Pochettino reveals his thoughts on a wonderful Wembley night

Tottenham Hotspur followed up their thrashing of Chelsea at the weekend with an impressive, determined, and patient victory over Inter Milan in the Champions League last night.

Only a win would keep Tottenham’s dreams alive in the competition, which meant extreme pressure on Poch’s men to do just that.

Deep into the second half, after dominating most of the game, an Eriksen strike secured all three points for the Lilywhites.

This took Tottenham up into second in the group, ahead of Inter on their head to head record via away goals.

Spurs ought to be clear of this last minute battle, after leading both Milan and PSV in their first two games of the campaign, only to drop points in both.

Pochettino and his Spurs players must now travel to the Camp Nou to face Barcelona in the final game, a match they will likely have to win to secure qualification.

Football London report Poch had this to say on the win: “I think the performance was very good, we fully deserved the victory. We scored at the end but did everything to try to beat a very good team.

“Inter Milan showed a great level, a team that’s so difficult to beat. The players deserve the credit, the performance was very good. We dominated, created the best chances and of course now we’re in a position that depends on us.

“If we can win at Barcelona, we’re going to go through to the next stage of the Champions League. But of course it will be so difficult and we need to focus now on Sunday – another derby against Arsenal.

“We cannot stop. We need to stay humble, try to improve because football is about always improving. But we’re happy. Chelsea and now Inter and both games were must win games. And now we’re going to play another game that we must win.”
