Pochettino reveals how he will prepare his side for Arsenal

The pressure is on Tottenham Hotspur this weekend as they take on bitter rivals Arsenal in the North London Derby.

The teams come into the game side by side in the table, with Spurs in third, four points above their London neighbours in fourth.

A win for Tottenham would go a long way to securing a top four place this season, while a loss would set nerves going in the quest for Champions League.

The Champions League will also come into play on Saturday, as Pochettino will surely have one eye on the Borussia Dortmund fixture next week.

The Argentine will have to decide who to rest, and who to play against Arsenal. The last thing he will want is to go into the European tie off the back of three straight losses.

Pochettino has claimed that he is disappointed with the two recent defeats, but will support, lift, and prepare his players to fight again on Saturday.

He said (Football London): “Yes but, you know, Chelsea is a difficult place to play, as history shows. I think we won last season here after 27 years. Today we competed. We didn’t compete at maybe our best. We didn’t show the quality we have, for different reasons. We are in a period now that looks like it started a few days ago against Burnley because before that, against Dortmund, the team were getting a lot of praise.

“But two games in a few days, two defeats, and very disappointed. But now it’s about being calm. It won’t change my assessment of the players. We need to support them, prepare them and lift them and help them to compete on Saturday because that is the most important thing now.”
