Pochettino reveals intention to go abroad

Tottenham Hotspur have had an extremely grueling schedule over the past few months where they have had to play a game nearly every three days.

The injuries that the squad has suffered this season has made the fixture congestion even more difficult to manage.

This is why Pochettino expressed his unhappiness at the scheduling of Tottenham’s fixture against Leicester last weekend.

The Argentine said the game could have been played on Saturday instead of Sunday as that would have given Spurs an extra day to prepare for their Champions League tie against Dortmund.

As it happened, it was Tottenham who looked the more energetic of the two sides last night while Dortmund looked to run out of gas as the game went on. Spurs eventually ended up winning the game 3-0, thus giving themselves a great chance of progressing to the last 8.

For the first time in a while, Tottenham will now have a week and a half without any matches, and Pochettino has made it clear that he will allow his players to have a well-deserved break.

When asked if he will himself take any time off, the Argentine said he might leave England for a few days.

Speaking after the game, Pochettino told Football.London, “Yes. I cannot tell you. But I’m going to be out of England if Jesus [Perez] allows me.”
