Pochettino reveals positive Dele Alli news ahead of Southampton game

Mauricio Pochettino may not be pitch side for the Southampton game, but Tottenham’s star midfielder Dele Alli may take to the turf again this weekend.

Alli has been out with a hamstring injury for around seven weeks, and during this time was sent away for warm weather training and recovery.

The England man was initially given a return date of early March, and although it looked as if he may beat this at one stage, it has proved to be accurate.

It is fair to say that Spurs have been struggling of late without him too, dropping eight points in their last three Premier League matches.

Tottenham have been lacking quality link up play between the midfield and attack, something that Alli excels at.

Getting Dele back to full fitness and top form would represent the return of nearly every single first team player for Spurs, an ideal scenario for the season run in.

Pochettino revealed Alli is available for Southampton (Football London): “It’s good news that he’s going to be available.

“We need to wait until tomorrow and the last training session but he is doing so well and I hope he can play next Saturday.

“I think we miss all the players, not only him or another, you miss them all when injured. When a player is injured it’s never a good situation. It’s not a good energy, they are always sad. And to have nearly all the squad available is good.”
